Nee, mijn man heet geen Thomas. En ik heb ook geen affaire met mijn fitness leraar of de postbode. En nee, helaas ook geen nieuwe kat. Thomas is deze schaal, althans... deze schaal is van Thomas. Ik ben namelijk zwaar verliefd op vintage Thomas servies.
No, my husbands name isn't Thomas. No, I am not having an affair with my fitness teacher nor the mail man. And unfortunately, I also haven't gotten a new kitten. No, Thomas is this bowl. Or actually, this bowl is Thomas. It's part of vintage Thomas china. And I happen to be in love with this vintage Bavarian china.
Dat roze en rood, die heftige bloemen. Ik vind het helemaal te gek! En dan dat vreemde handvat aan het deksel. Dat is toch te geweldig voor woorden. Het ganze wereldwijde web struinde ik af op zoek naar een mooi stuk van dit vintage servies uit Beieren. Maar het moest allemaal óf helemaal uit Nieuw-Zeeland komen (hoe zou zo'n stuk Beiers servies daar nou weer terechtkomen?) of het was behoorlijk duur. En toen ik eens nietsvermoedend mijn plaatselijke kringloop binnenwandelde, vond ik deze schat. Voor een paar euro. Verkocht!
The pink and red and those bold flowers. I think it's quite groovy. And the weird handle on the lid is just to die for. I surfed allover the world wide web looking for a piece of this lovely vintage china from Bavaria, but either it had to come all the way from New Zealand (I wonder how it ended up there!) or it was rather expensive. And then I was stumbling through my local thift store, minding my own business, looking for nothing in particular. And there it was, this beautiful Thomas bowl. For only a few Euros. Sold!
En nu is het natuurlijk zoeken geblazen naar nog meer leuke stukken Thomas servies! Het hoeft van mij allemaal niet bij elkaar te passen, liever niet zelfs. Kan ik er bont feestje van maken.
De andere mooie vintage serviesstukken zijn van Marjolein en werden gebruikt om foto's te maken voor Robin Magazine.
And now, of course, I have to go looking for more pieces of vintage Thomas china. It really doesn't have to match. Actually, I'd prefer it to have non-mtaching pieces. That way I can style this into one colourful, happy china party.
