If I say that blogging has added so much to my life, I am anything but exaggerating. Because of blogging I've done so many cool stuff, learned som many new things and got to know a bunch of fantatsic people from allover the world. It's these things that make me write and take pocs with joy. 'Cause even though I can't see your faces, I know your out there somewhere.
So one night in Cape Town, after I came back to my hotel room from a long day of playing travel journalist, I found a parcel on my bed stand. The hotel staff kindly placed it there, as well as the little chocolat on my pillow. From the large parcel a lovely wrapped present and card fell 'Baie welkom in my land, ek hoop jij geniet jou tyd hier' (Welcome to my country, I hope you'll enjoy your time here) it read in Afrikaans. The parcel was from Stel, a crochet blogger from South-Africa who's blog I'm following for a while now. Just before my trip I sent her a little message, told her I was coming. She immediately send my lots of advice of great places to visit and asked me where I'd stay in Cape Town. And that's how the parcel ended up on my pillow.
The tree balls of yarn that came rolling out of the wrapping are from two friends of Stel: Stephni and Elaine from Pretoria, who thought it was such a pitty that South-Africa didn't sell a lot of their own yarns. So, they decided to sell they own yarn. They call it 'I love yarn' (seriously, is there any better name!), opened up shop in Pretoria where they also organise crochet-alongs and launched a lovely webshop. These three balls are 70% bamboo and 30% cotton. It doesn't come more organic that this, 'cause the yarn is also handdyed. The yarn is very soft and the colours are just amazing. Check it out, it's called 'Imagine'.
I've thought of a gazillion things to make with these three balls of glorious yarn, but I haven't decided on a project yet. Got any ideas? Anyway, if you feel like yarn gawking (and honestly, who doesn'' like doing that!) hop on over and take a look at I love yarn.

The last three pics are from I love yarn, the first pic is from me: three happy balls of yarn on my hotelroom bed in Cape Town!
