It's done! My To The Point Shawl

En ineens onplofte de natuur. Als jullie uit het raam staren, zien jullie waarschijnlijk ook overal bloesems, narcissen en tulpen? Wat heerlijk hè. Wat een paar dagen warm weer al niet kunnen doen. Ik dacht eerst: oh nee, dan is het veel te warm voor mijn mohair sjaal die net af is. Maar in tegendeel, hij is juist heerlijk met een wat dunnere jas.

And all of a sudden, nature simply exploded. I don't know how things look when you stare out of the window, but I see blossoms, narcissus and tulips everywhere. Isn't it just delightful? The last few days have been warmer and it's been lovely. At first, I was thinking: oh no, it's going to be far too warm for the mohair shawl that I've just finished. But au contraire! This shawl is just perfect with a thinner jacket.

Dus ik nam mijn nieuwe mohair sjaal mee op excursie naar een bosje bij mij in de buurt, waar ik heel veel mooie bloempies had gezien en besloot er eens, in het zonnetje, uitgebreid door het struisgewas te ruisen. Dat bleek nog een hele tour. Met fiets aan de hand, camera aan de schouder en dan een mooi plekkie zoeken voor de sjaal. Omdat het een beetje waaide en ik het estetisch ook nog een beetje gezellig wilde maken, kwam het erop neer dat ik in zeer ongelukkige hoeken heb gezeten en gelegen. En vervolgens dacht ik aan teken en spinnen en muggen en brandnetels... en toen kwam het eigenlijk niet meer goed. Maar ik heb toch wat aardige plaatjes geschoten.

So, I took my brand new shawl with me on an excursion to a little patch of woodlands near my home. I saw a couple of days ago that many blooms had popped up there, so I thought it would be a lovely spot to shoot some pics of my new shawl. But, with a bike, a camera, a bit of woodland, a bit of a breeze and a mohair shawl, it wasn't that easy. Lemme tell you! But because I don't mind suffering for my art (cough) it came down to me crawling and crouching in extremely uncomfortable positions and thinking about ticks, spiders, mosquitos and nettles all the time. However, I did manage to take some nice pics in the end. 

Zoals je kunt zien, heb ik mijn sjaal (die ruim 2 meter lang is) gewoon in grijstinten en roodtinten gelaten. De blauwe bal mohair heb ik nog maar even apart gelegd, voor een volgend project. Ik vind het uiteindelijk echt een hele fijne combi geworden, best wel stoer. Mocht je nu meer met zachte of juist frisse kleuren hebben: kijk even naar alle kleuren Scheepjes Rhythm Mohair die verkrijgbaar zijn, wat heerlijk hè. Ik haakte de sjaal in een dikke punt, waardoor hij er nu een beetje als een grote pijl uitzit. Vandaar de To The Point Sjaal. Op dit moment schrijf ik het patroon uit en dat zet ik een dezer dagen even voor jullie online.

As you can see, I have made my shawl (which is over 2 meters long, how nice!) in shades of grey and red. Maybe you remember that I also had a ball of blue mohair laying around, but I decided to leave that for another project. Another crochet project with mohair: twist my arm, why don't you... I do think the colour combo is very bold and cool. If you're into softer or fresher colours, just take a look at all the available colours of  Scheepjes Rhythm Mohair that are available, aren't they just lush? I crocheted this shawl into a bit of a point, so it looks like a giant arrow, that's why I named it the To The Point Shawl. I am writing up the pattern as we speak and I will put it up as soon as I've finished it.

Oké, en nu nog gewoon wat fijne sfeerplaatjes. Gewoon omdat het anders zo zonde is dat ik voor niets door het struisgewas heb geruist. Wat mooi hè. Lente, blijf nog maar even!
