Pack it up

Dit weekend waren we te gast bij mijn tante. Ze gaf een leuk, en lekker uitgebreid, etentje. Ik kwam dan ook liever niet met lege handen aan. Ik naaide 's ochtends nog snel een mandje, volgens haar duidelijke aanwijzingen. Ik gebruikte één van mijn favoriete stofjes van Ikea.

This weekend me and my luv had dinner with my auntie. It was a wonderful dinner and I hand't seen my aunt for a bit. So I really couldn't show up empty handed, now could I? In the morning I whipped up a little basket using her tutorial. I used one of my favorite fabrics by Ikea.

Ik maakte het mandje wel wat groter, zodat alle goodies erin paste. Niks bijzonders, maar wel lekker! Een pot zelf gemaakte jam, kokos macronen en superlekkere chocolaatjes. Mmm.

I made the basket a little bigger than in the tutorial, 'cause I needed to fit some goodies in there. Nothing special, but oh so yummy. A jar of home made jam, cocos macarones and great chocolates. Mmm.

Oh trouwens, wel even wennen hè. Die nieuwe Blogger interface! Ik moet echt even zoeken naar alle nieuwe knoppen en ik had héél even een mini-paniekaanval toen ik de leeslijst met blogs niet kon vinden (ik mocht eens wat nieuws van jullie missen, adem in adem uit).

Oh btw, how about that new Blogger interface! Whoah, I really had to search for all the functions and buttons and such and such. And I also almost had a tiny panic attack when I couldn't find my list with blogs to read (I was seriously worrying about missing your blogs, breathing in... breathing out).

Maar net toen ik ontwenningsverschijnselen kreeg, vond ik zo langzamerhand alles weer. Fjoef.

But just when I was showing withdrawal symptoms, I slowly but steadily found everything again. Phew!

A time of giving

Het is een héle rustige kerst in huize In Red. Precies wat ik nodig had, je hoort me niet klagen. Uitslapen, uitgebreid ontbijten, een flink stuk wandelen en een beetje haken en lezen op de bank (al luisterend naar de Serious Request Top 1000). Gisteren gingen we 's middags nog even langs mijn schoonmoeder. Die vraag nooit iets voor zichzelf, maar doet heel veel voor anderen. Dan kun je niet met lege handen aankomen!

Christmas is very quiet here in the Happy in Red Residence. This was exactly what I needed, so no complaints here! I slept in late, had a great breakkie, went for a walk and spent the afternoon chrocheting and reading whilst listening to the radio. In the afternoon we also visited my mum-in-law. She never asks for anything herself, but gives a lot to others. So we were not going to show up empty handed!

Ik maakte nog even snel een cadeaumandje dat ik vulde met lekkere dingen van de biologische winkels (thee, chocolade en truffels).

I whipped up this little gift basket and filled it with goodies from the eco-shop (chocolate, tea and chocolate truffels). 

En omdat ze zo houdt van 'zelfgemaakt' (moet je vooral tegen mij zeggen!): ook nog rozijnen muffins en chocolate chip cookies. Natuurlijk voorgeproefd én goedgekeurd.

And because she loves 'home made', I made a batch of raisin muffins and chocolate chip cookies (like you have to tell me twice...). Of course all pre-tasted and approved.
