Drawstring backpack: little fish

Onlangs hoopte ik hardop dat een Veritas zich hopelijk eens zou vestigen in Nederland. Het allereerste filiaal natuurlijk in Utrecht, ik bedoel... logisch. Maar er is nog zo'n winkel waarvan ik graag een Utrechtse dependance zou hebben. En dat is Julija's. Dit is echt het stoffen- en wolletjes walhalla van Antwerpen, maar dat zijn de Belgen vast met me eens. Wat een geweldige keuze aan stoffen, fournituren en haak- en breigaren daar. Ongelofelijk.

Recently I was pretty honest about Veritas opening a shop in The Netherlands. The first shop would have to be in Utrecht, naturally. And there's another shop that I would desperately love to have within our Dutch boarders. And that's Julija's. This shop has just the best selection of fabrics, yarn and notions. Belgians would agree with me. It's based in Antwerp and it's amazing.

Ik was met mijn moeder in Antwerpen toen ik deze vrolijke visjes bij Julija's kocht. Wat ik ermee moest? Geen idee! Maar ik vond ze wel geweldig grappig. Ik geloof dat ik zelfs hardop in de winkel 'Blup' gezegd heb. Want ze zijn leuk, ja toch?

I was with my mum in Antwerp when I saw these happy lookin' fishies at Julijas. But what to do with them? I had no clue, but just thought they were funny, and I still do. I even pretended to be a fish, right there in the store. They're just so cute!

Maar toen het het oranje veterkoord zag op de stoffenmarkt in Utrecht wist ik het ineens: nog een leuke rugzak, dat moest het worden! Overigens is het ook heel gemakkelijk om zelf zo'n rugzakje te maken: ik schreef er een eenvoudige handleiding bij.

Het grappige van deze stof is dat er af en toe eens een vis uit de kom springt (als je goed kijkt, zie je het rechts tegen de rand). Lekker ondeugend en onaangepast. Hm, zou het daarom zijn dat ik deze stof zo leuk vindt?? Dit tasje is verkrijgbaar in mijn shop!

The funny thing about this fabric is that sometimes a fish jumps from its bowl (if you look closely, you can see it happening on the right there). Naughty and not like everyone else. Hm, I wonder if that's why I love the fabric so much?? This cute, little backpack is for sale in my shop!
