Christmas tree garland

Bij ons in huis komt er geen kerstboom in huis. Mijn lief vindt het een verschrikking en een reden tot echtscheiding. En ik vind het niet belangrijk genoeg om er tegenin te gaan. Ik kan me herinneren dat mijn huisgenootjes in mijn studentenhuis wel kleine kerstboompjes in hun kamers hadden staan, maar dat ik daar ook niet echt behoefte aan had. Helemaal niets met kerst dus. Alhoewel, al die kerstknutsels die ik online zie, vind ik wel weer grappig.

No Christmas tree will enter our house. My love thinks they're horrible and will divorce me if I would insist on one. And I really don't care enough to make a huge deal out of this. I remember when I was in college that my flatmates would have a small Christmas tree in their rooms, but I could never be bothered. So, I guess I am not a very Christmas-minded person. That said, I love all the Christmas sewing and crochet projects that I find online.

Dus heb ik willige slachtoffers nodig, aan wie ik al die kerstspulletjes kan geven. Die zijn er gelukkig genoeg, dus vooruit. Dan kruip ik wel achter de naaimachine. Want deze kersboompjes kon ik echt niet weerstaan.

So I need some willing victims to give my Christmas crafts to. And luckily, there are plenty of them. So alright alright, there I was behind my sewing machine. As I really couldn't resist these little Christmas trees.

En omdat ik niet graag met andermans veren pronk: het patroontje komt van Noodlehead. Het vilt kocht ik op de Utrechtse stoffenmarkt, net als het bruine canvas. De kerststofjes zijn van Riley Blake en het koord van Dille & Kamille.

Blissful Sunday

Vandaag schreef ik een kaart aan een vriendin, gewoon omdat het kon en omdat het er gewoon zo fijn en zomers uit zag buiten. Terwijl het toch best fris was.

Today I wrote this card to a friend. Just because. Because it looked nice and sunny outside even though it was a bit chilly.

 

En ik pakte de eerste kerstcadeautjes in. Ja, nu al! Maar ik heb een goed excuus! Want ze moeten naar het buitenland en ze moeten natuurlijk wel op tijd aankomen. Leuke labeltjes hè! Het inpakpapier en de stickers kocht ik bij Ikea, de labels bij de Hema en de kantoorvakhandel.

Also, I've wrapped my first Christmas pressies. What, already? Yes, but I have an excuse. These pressies are going abroad and I really want them to arrive in time, of course. Love the labels! I bought the wrapping paper and stickers at Ikea. The labels I bought at Hema and my local office supply store.

Knippen en strijken moest ook nog gebeuren. Dat vind ik de minst leuke klus van naaien! Maar zodra het achter de rug is, kan het leuke werk beginnen. Hopelijk lukt het me om hiermee van de week aan de slag te gaan! Ik weet niet of het gaat lukken om foto's te maken... want het is wel erg vroeg donker hè!

I also needed to cute and iron some fabric. My least favorite job about sewing. I wish it would just cut and iron itsself. But now, the fun part can start. Hopefully I'll get cracking on it this week. Not sure though if I'll be able to take pics, gah it's dark early already!
