Er zitten al knoppen in de bomen, overal bloeien de sneeuwklokjes (en de krokussen zullen ook niet lang meer op zich laten wachten) en er staan overal in huis al bloembollen heel hard hun best te doen. Ofwel: ik had gewoon gelijk toen ik vorige week riep dat de winter dit jaar op woensdag en donderdag viel. Dus laten we de Nederlandse winter dit jaar eens lekker overslaan (schaatsen kijken we vanaf vrijdag wel tijdens de Olympische spelen op tv) en snel door zappen naar de lente!
There are some buds in the trees, the snowdrops are in full bloom (and I guess the crocuses won't stay behind much longer) and I have some lovely flower bulbs around the house making it look oh so colourful. So I guess I was completely right when I said last week that the Dutch winter would last one entire Wednesday ánd Thursday. I am all about skipping the entire Dutch winter now (starting Friday I can watch ice skating and skiing on tv during the Olympics) and fast forward to spring.
En de lente in mijn bol is echt de allerbeste reden om met een hele stapel nieuwe wol aan de slag te gaan en een begin te maken met een fris, nieuw project. Ik heb zelden met zo veel verrukking naar een lading nieuwe bolletjes garen zitten kijken. Wat een ontzettend fijne en frisse kleurtjes.
And having spring on my mind is the best reason to get a load of fresh new yarn and and get started on a new project. Watching the new stash of yarn balls alone was a pleasure, such fresh and gorgious colours.
Hollandscher kunnen deze bolletje trouwens niet zijn, want het is van Scheepjeswol. Het garen is Softfun, een combinatie tussen acryl en katoen. Als je ermee haakt zie je wel de mooie steken die je ook ziet als je met pure katoen haakt, maar het garen is veel zachter en volgens mij ook behoorlijk duurzaam.
These balls of yarn are as Dutch as they come, as they're from the Dutch company Scheepjeswol. It's called Softfun and it's a mix of acrylic and cotton. When crocheting you have the gorgious stitches that you have when hooking with cotton, but because of the acrylic quality it's much softer, smoother and I think more durable too.
Niet overdreven toch? Toen ik zei dat het om een nieuw en fris project zou gaan? Echt: de lente in mijn bol! Ik zal nog flink moeten door haken, voordat dit nieuwe project ook maar enigszins vorm begint te krijgen. Maar alleen al van de tussendoor foto's word ik helemaal blij.
En, wat maak jij op dit moment?
I wasn't exaggerating when I said this new project would be something new and fresh! Spring is definately on my mind. Now, I will have to get a move on as it'll cost a lot of time to finish this project. But the WIP pics are enough to make me happy for now.
So, what are you making at the moment?

Mijn lief kluste met engelengeduld aan mijn computer. Want na 'de crash van 2013' draait het beestje wel weer, maar ik ben (ondanks trouw backuppen en dingen 3 keer opslaan) toch heel veel bestanden kwijt geraakt en ook een aantal softwareprogramma's werkt niet meer 'zoals ik dat nu eenmaal prettig vind' (Gewoontedier, moi? Neuh...). Ik ben dan wel zo'n type dat het eerst zelf braaf gaat proberen en met behulp van fora en online hulpdiensten een hoop voor elkaar krijgt, maar voor sommige zaken schakel ik toch de echtgenoot in.
My love was working on my computer with so much patience. 'Cause after 'the big crash of 2013', my computer is working again, yet I have lost a lot of files (even though I am a loyal backupper) and a lot of software is installed back, but not exactly working the way I love it best. Yes people, I love my own little habbits. Of course I tried to fix everything myself first, with the help of fora and other online sources. I was actually able to fix a lot. But for other things I just really needed the husbear.
Dus terwijl hij trouw aan mijn computer prutste, zat ik op de bank en haakte (wat een mooie titel voor een boek zou dat zijn). Ik ben behoorlijk verslaafd geraakt aan het haken van deze jongens. Ze haken lekker weg, zijn zo klaar en omdat ik Drops Paris gebruik, zien ze er ook nog eens heel vrolijk uit.
So while he was loyally fixing my mess, I sat on the couch and crocheted (that would be a lovely title for a book). I must say, I am rather addicted to these fellas. It's easy crochet, I have them done in a heart beat and because I use Drops Paris they look so happy.
Inmiddels heb ik al heel wat kleuren in mijn Etsy winkel staan. Dat ziet er ook al zo gezellig uit! En? Waar zijn jullie op dit moment mee bezig?
Meanwhile I have so many colours in my Etsy shop, doesn't that look wonderful! So, tell me. What are you guys working on?
